Organise your christmas...

I know what you are thinking ... Christmas is over and I don't want to think about it anymore.
For the most part I agree with you.  But this last Christmas was my most un-organised Christmas ever (I think I have mentioned this a zillion times already) and I declared that it was not going to happen again.

I have been giving Christmas alot of thought since it finished and have decided that if I started and did a bit each month all I would have to do in December is eat, drink and be merry (and at the same time visit the gym LOL).
One thing I did do in December was make this "Decemaber Notebook" which turned out to be the best thing ever.  I intend to make another one later in the year but thought now might be a good time to write in 2012's notebook things that I liked about this notebook and things I need to add.  I find that this time of year, after Christmas has been and gone is when you come up with all the cool ideas you wished you had before Christmas.

One thing I noted was that I didn't need to include so many pages and that I needed more pockets for receipts etc.  So I am going to write this in my notebook so that when I come to making a new one towards the end of the year I will have all my ideas in one spot.
Another thing that I am going to add to 2012's notebook is a list of presents to buy for next christmas.  I don't know about you but I struggle for ages with some people to figure out what to get them, but as soon as Christmas is over I come up with the perfect gift idea.  So this month I am going to keep a list of the ideas that I come up with to give me a head start for next Christmas.

I have also made up a file (not a big one) of ideas for gift wrapping, card ideas and gifts that appeal to me now and that I am certain to forget about in the lead up to Christmas.  I have kept this process very limited though as I don't want a ton of paper to sift through and I don't want to make it so big that I just don't go back to it.  I am also being very fussy about the things I decide to keep.  I also plan to look back on this file every month.  I quite often find that you see something, stick in a file, and then when you go back to look at it, it doesn't quite have the same appeal anymore.  I figure by doing this monthly I can throw out things that I have changed my mind on and only keep the things that really appeal to me.

I do plan on putting all the details of my "Christmas Notebook" on my blog later in the year incase anyone would like to try this idea out.

If you have found any of these ideas useful, please feel free to use them.  If you have any other ideas that work for you I would love to hear about them.
Love me :-)

GYM?????? Yeah right. Love your little album/notebook and now you really have me thinking, can I combine it all together my Christmas journal and notebook, I especially liked the idea about keeping designs of cards or wrapping.

LOVE LOVE THIS!! I loved your notebook last yeary, everyone should have one like it!! I'm working on mine, just simple for now but might change it up later on.
It's going to feel so good to just relax next Christmas and not be running around.

I do plan on buying gifts thru the year this time. When my kids notice something I'm going to go back without them and get it and store in a box. Hoping to have all my shopping done by October this time and wrapped and DONE!! No more last minute shopping!!

Now that's really organised! and such a useful idea ... I especially like how you'll be editing as the year goes by and getting rid of things which don't seem so good any more. I might just have to try this :).

This is a great idea, I always think I will remember what I saw, where it was, but no. Will need to make one of these.
