Its that time again, Unscripted sketches new sketch...
Sketch #157 and here is my take on the sketch.  I was going to go in a totally different direction this week but it went a little haywire, so I ended up doing a card instead.

I wanted to do something a little different for me (seeing as my first option didn't work LOL) so I added lots of butterflies.  I really wanted to use the colour yellow but it was a little too bright against my subtle background paper so I covered the yellow pattern paper with vellum.  It still allows the colour to show through bit takes away the brightness.

with the flower I wanted to add some texture so I die cut the same flower image three times, once in white cardstock, again in yellow pattern paper and then again in vellum.  To give a little extra texture I embossed the vellum with "swiss dots" embossing folder from cuttlebug.

I attached a little bit of glue in the middle of each butterfly, both on the yellow ones and the vellum ones just to hold in place so that I could stitch them down the middle.  I wanted to be able to lift the wings to give lots of dimension.

Cardstock, ink and pearls - Stampin Up
Pattern paper -My Minds Eye "Follow your heart"
stamps and flower die - PTI
Butterfly punch - Martha Stewart
Other -brad "dear Lizzy", sewing machine, cuttlebug embossing folder

Okay now you have seen my take on the sketch, why not pop on over to Unscripted Sketches and check out the amazing projects from the other Design Team Members.

We would love to see how you interpret the sketch so please remember to link up your creation.
Have a great weekend and happy crafting.
Love me :-)

Wow, this is soooo pretty. I'm glad your first idea didn't work out because this one is amazing. Love that you added the vellum, gives it extra softness and fun to the card. Love the butterflies and that you stitched them. What a pretty flower also.

This is my new favorite card by you now, so pretty.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, you inspire me and make me happy also.
