When I first decided on my "2012 The Year of Baking" I wasn't really expecting big things from it. I thought I will play a bit but really cooking isn't my thing so don't put too much energy worrying about it, just kind of play along and the moment will pass.
What I didn't expect was that I would love it so much. No, seriously I am really enjoying the whole process. From choosing what to bake, buying the ingredients, the baking and even the cleaning up.
I have discovered though, that when its time to clean up I like to "wash" the dishes instead of using the dishwasher. I have also discovered that I am slowing down, thinking about what I am doing and just being inthe moment, something I don't do very often.
So who would have thought that baking would have given me such calmness - its cooking for goodness sakes and I hate cooking ????? Don't I!!!
Have a great day.
Love me :-)

Maybe you just thought you hated it, baking because you feel like it is fun, it's when we have to do it that it's sometimes not fun. So what's next.
Creating something from scratch really is a wonderful feeling, and as you know, once I start I really can't stop! I am so thrilled that you are discovering the joy that is baking...it really is a fun thing to do!
HOORAY FOR BAKING!!!!! I'm so happy it's making you happy and slowing you down. This was the perfect word for you this year. These look yummy by the way.
Maybe you should make a little recipe album, like a little mini scrap page of each item you make and what you think about it. This would be great to hand down to your kids. I know your already busy but it's a thought.
Have fun baking queen!
How wonderful to be enjoying this other creative (and delicious) outlet. For the past few months I've been cooking and baking more also, and focusing on making more nutritious foods, which also happen to be very tasty...I love this win/win situation!
