Just before Christmas my new Project Life stuff for 2012 arrived. I was like a kid with a new toy, I couldn't get inside quick enough to rip off the packaging and start running my fingers over every piece.
2011 was the first year for me using Project Life and it certainly won't be my last.
I still have lots to catchup on for 2011 but I can honestly say that I have never documented so much of one year before. I intend to keep plugging away at finishing up my PL albums for 2011 but not going to get all head up about it.
Keep it Simple - that is certainly my biggest piece of advice. The reason most people do PL is because it is a simple way of documenting our lives. Don't think you have to embellish every piece that goes into your album (unless of course you want to).Keep a notebook - even if you just do dot points, write a list or journal alot because trust me you won't remember. The big thing about PL is that you can capture the little things because you don't have to wait till you have the right paper/embellishments etc, just write it down and slot it into the page protectors.
Don't focus on taking a photo a day - When I started out in 2011 I was taking a photo a day and then freaked out when I forgot to take a photo. I soon realised that there are may ways to document our lives without a photo. Sometimes you will take more than one photo a day and that is totally okay too. Journall about conversations, what you had for dinner... be creative.
Plastic sleeves - one of the best things I did towards the end of this year was to use an 8 /2" x 11" page protector in the album when I had stuff I wanted to add (memorabilia, tickets etc) but didn't have time to do it right then and there. It was a great way to keep everything together and off my desk.
I have also set aside a small area (shelf near my desk) where I have put my PL life pieces. I have containers for my PL journal cards etc plus containers for things that I intend to use like washi tape, tags, doilies etc. You don't need a big space my shelf is only about 26 inces long. I have also included a box to hold photo's that I intend to use the my PL album.
The most important thing about this type of memory keeping is that it suits all types. It doesn't matter wether you are a traditional scrapbooker, hybrid or digital it all works with this system. It also suits all different styles of scrapbooking and this is evident by the very different people on the PL Creative Team. All their styles are completely different yet the system works perfectly. Becky's blog is filled with ideas too so there is lots of inspiration out there.
I intend to use digital as well and this is even easier now because PL life is now available through Jessica Sprague.
I hope to be a little better at showing my PL pages this year and also keeping a little more up to date... LOL well I am going to try anyway.
If you are doing PL please leave and comment with a link so that I can come and see how you are putting your PL together. It will be great to share ideas.
Hope you all had a wonderful christmas, I did however I really need to stop eating and start moving... which is so much easier said than done.
Love me :-)

Well you sure look set and ready, you know me i dont make lists like you so this is something i will have to be more diligent with. I could always use the book we are gong to make in our next labelcrew project.

Must feel great to have nearly completed a whole year! I am going to try really hard to keep up in 2012 :-)
I love love seeing this post, so excited for another year of Project Life. The last two days have been spent with me catching up on December and now my album is packed, should have had 2 albums I think.
For my 2012 PL, I've already filled in 95% of the journal cards and date cards ahead of time. This is my first time doing that and I feel it will make it easier and faster for me to get the pages done. I did leave some journal spots open for photos, paper goodies, tickets etc. I looked back last year at my PL LIST and realized I never did the family photo every month and reallllly hope to do that this year. Hoping my kids will be more active in this year's too, taking the photos and doing some writing. I will still be doing mine as a weekly spread and not daily. Keeping a little notebook to write things and what photo I took is what I've always done and will do again. Might even add one thing for my OLW each month too.
Did you notice in the cards that the word BELIEVE is on them, so excited that my OLW is already in it. I made sure to put one of these in for each month to help remind me of my word.
WOW I wrote a long comment, because I'm sooooo excited about PL!!
