December Daily - day 22

My son had a friend sleep over last night so my DD post is all about the fun they had...
I can't believe how fast this month is going and I can't believe that I am still actually up to date with my December Daily.  Okay, maybe not completely up to date but my photo's and journalling are all done its just some creative play that needs to happen.  I am hoping to get up to date on the paper side of things tomorrow but today its all about packing and cleaning.
Packing for a annual trip to Moore River and cleaning because I just can't stand the mess any longer.
By 9.30 this morning I had cleaned out my pantry (only did this because I was trying to find something, couldn't find it and by the time I did I had already nearly emptied the pantry so decided to clean it), cleaned out my fridge (serious nasty stuff going on in there), cleaned out my tupperware cupboard (again wanted to find something, then everything fell out and of ourse now I have all these lids with no bottoms... how does that happen) done two loads of washing and started the ironing.
Insane I know but I have this very big sense of achievement right now.
Off now to start the caravan packing thing.
Have a great day.

December Daily - days 4-20

Yes I am still here.  Sorry but we have been oh so busy and this is the first chance I have had to do some blogging.  I am pleased to say that I am pretty well up to date on my DD.  Here are my latest digital pags.  I still have a little bit of journalling to do but otherwise I am up to date.
I am totally loving the feel of this years DD.  I just love to sit and hold it, slowly look through each page and then go back and start to go through it again.  I am so thrilled at the stories I have told this year.  I really love to just sit and hold it... wait I said that already.

Did I mention how much I love this little book of us... LOL
I love it!!!

December Daily - day 15

You know sometimes you plan to do one thing, then things go wrong and you have to change your direction.  Will this is was happened with day 15.  I was all set to document Joshua's end of year bowling night for cubs but I didn't end up taking them, Colin did and I forgot to give him the camera.
But then a funny thing happened... At about 8pm I realised that I didn't have any bread for lunches the next day so went down to Woolworths.  I had already been down to Woolies earlier and in fact this was about my 5th time to Woolies since Sunday.  Then I realised... thats what I should document - the cost of living.
so all this week I will be keeping receipts and putting them in the pocket I made using an envelope.  It will be mainly receipts for food, petrol that kind of thing.  I may even put in an electricity bill etc.
I really do love it when things change direction, without notice, and they end up being just the right thing.
Last day of school today for my son and a party tonight for the adults and kids, can't wait.
Have a great day.

December Daily - day 8-13

Finally I am up to date on my DD.  I still have some vellum pages to do but I have run out of red cotton and can't get any till Friday.  But the main pages are done.  Above is page 8-digital.
 page 8 - hybrid
Page 9 - digital & hybrid (this is one that needs a vellum page)
Page 10 -digital & hybrid.  This one is all about our advent calendars.  In the mail we got some advertising material that came in a vellum envelope - how cool is that!  Its where I will keep the clues etc from our tag advent calendar
 Page 10 - hybrid
Page 11 - digital and hybrid
Page 12 - digital & hybrid.  This is my favourite page so far becuase I was going to tell one story but then ended up telling a whole different story.  Love that.
 Day 13 digital
Day 13 - hybrid.
I will do day 14 tonight and share tomorrow.
This year I am loving how the DD is coming along.  I am thrilled at the stories I am telling.  They are stories that I probably would never have got around to telling.
Thanks for stopping by.
love me :-)

12 tags of christmas - day 11 & 12

Firstly my apologies for the lateness, its been so busy around here and I think I am getting a cold... hate colds in summer.  But lets not dwell on that...
I decided to combine days 11 & 12 because I decided to turn this tag into a gift as well.  The tag is simple, just a stamped image (of my favourite stamp) on white cardstock.
But then I decided that these were so easy I could make heaps of them.
Then I made a little pocket using my other favourite thing (vellum), popped the tags in the pocket and added a cardstock cuff.  I added the same stamped image to the cuff plus a little bling.
a there you have it a very cute little gift.  These would make great teacher gifts or a secret santa gift.
Hopefully will be back tomorrow with my DD.  Its only day 14 and I am behind already LOL.  Mission tonight is to catch up.
Have a great day.
love me :-)

Entertaining... crafty style

We had some friends over last night for a christmas get together and we don't usually buy gifts for each other but I wanted to do a little something...
something just to say thank you for our friendship...
so I made the guys a little calico bag with a little gift inside... and for the girls I made them some "white chocolate rocky road".  They are actually still in shock that I cooked something (I know you don't cook rocky road but this is a close to cooking as I get)
It was also my besties birthday and thought it would be nice to make the gift wrapping just a little more special...
I didn't want to kids to feel left out so I covered the table with some butchers papers, drew some funky placemats added some coloured pencils...
made some yummy lolly & chocolate kebabs....
and watched them create.  This was such a hit.  They had such a great time drawing and laughing and drawing and laughing...
but the best bit was listening to them chat and just have some good old fashion kid fun.  Truly this was such a hit, defintely worth trying.
Hope you are having a great weekend.

12 Tags of Christmas - day 10 | December Daily - day 8

Today I wanted to do something different for a tag and I guess you could say this is more like a christmas ornament tag.
I cut out two fabric hearts and before stitching them together I sewed the word "Joy" to one fabric heart.  The letters are stitckers and I knew they probably wouldn't stay stuck for long so I stitched them on to hold thems secure.  I then sewed the fabric hearts together leaving a gap so I could fill the heart with some wadding.
I added some cotton twine to the back of the heart and then added two small white tag with the words "to" & "from" on them.
very easy and only took about 10 mins to complete.

Digital page
a little bit behind at the moment but only because we have been a little busy but thats okay.  I have everything I just need to put it together.
Its marble season at my sons school for the next two weeks and he is totally excited about it.  He has a couple of very special marbles that have names and everything.  He has never really been into marbles before so its very interesting watching him get into this marble thing.  He even buried his special ones so that no one could find them.  How cute.
Hope you have a great day.

December Daily day 7 | 12 Tags of Christmas day 9

Happy Thursday everyone, hope you are all well.
Here is my hybrid page for Day 7 plus an envlope pocket.  Day 7 was all about my sons christmas concert at school and about me turning my husbands man size santa suit into a kids size 8 santa suit for my son.
I included a pocket because I wanted somewhere to place the song lyrics that they sung and the program for the evening.  My pocket is simply a kraft evenelope, and stamped ornament which I have then punched out and stuck to the flap of the envelope, I then stitched the words songs lyrics and program so that people know whats inside.
My journalling page is probably my favourite so far because of the banner.  I just love banners.

This is again one of my favourites because its made using my favourite fabric... calico.
its just  a simple tag shaped sewn together with wadding in between.  I stitched the words to the fabric pieces before sewing them together.

To finish off the tag I have cut around the edges using my pinking scissors.
Hope you are still having fun making your tags.
Have a great day.

December daily - day 7

I am actually amazed that I am still on top of this, mind you it is only day 7 LOL.
This is my digital page of day 7 and I will upload my hybrid page in the morning.
I am really loving my DD this year, I think because the digital is making it so much easier.
sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bight.
Love me :-)

December daily page 6 & 12 Tags of Christmas...

Here is the hybrid page of day 6 as promised.  One of the things I like the most about this years daily is that there is plenty of room to journal.  Journalling is probably the thing I like best about scrapbooking.  I keep thinking how wonderful it will be to look back on all these stories in years to come.

 12 Tags of Christmas - day 8
I have been wanting to do a tag with a banner on it since I started so I am so happy that I have finally done one.  This tag is so me, a tag, calico fabric, a banner of course, simple stamping and my favourite right now stitching.

This tag my look a bit technical but really you are only stamping one image then adding a bit of calico and then giving it a quick zip through the machine.
Only 17 sleeps till christmas, wahoooooooo
Enjoy your day,
love me :-)
