Yes I know, haven't been around for awhile... again, and Ido apologise but as usual busy, busy, busy. But at this moment I have the whole house to myself. My daughter is off at a sleepover and Colin & Josh have gone off for some male bonding, so I thought I would take this opportunity to do some much needed blogging. I wanted to show a layout that I have done using some yummy new products from Twiddleybitz. I was thrilled when I got the "family" chipboard word because I have been wanting to do an layout about the centre of our family home. Where we come together everyday to live out our lives. Everyday day we start and end here so Iwanted to tell this story before I moved onto something else.
These new products are beautiful and all I needed to do was ink them. How easy is that.
Love this flourish to most.
I am off now to enjoy a quiet cuppa (enjoying this noise... oh thats right... there is no noise, ahhh bliss) before getting all tizzed up to meet with Evana (who is celebrating her birthday today, Happy Birthday) and all the other lovely ladies from Tomorrow's Memories. Another hangover tomorrow, the things we do for friends.
Its nice to be back, hopefully with show some more Twiddleybitz tomorrow.
I was getting used to be a mum for the second time. I can't believe that its been 7 years since my Son Joshua was born, where has that time gone. It certainly makes you stop and think about time when one of your children has a birthday, it seems to creep up on you, without any warning. I mean this time 7 years ago it was our first day with our son Joshua, I had just given him a feed and was settling down for my first night of broken sleep. I had kissed Colin good night and waved him goodbye as he left my hospital room...
and now 7 years later we have just arrived home from his birthday party, opened all his presents, I iced the last of the 36 cupcakes for his classmates tomorrow, watched him sitting quietly on his bed reading one of his books that he got today before finally bombing out for the night.
Happy Birthday my darling Joshua, we love you so very much.
On Saturday night we went to the "Mainy Tribute Match" in honour of Chris Mainwairing who was one of our best footballers in Australia. It was also a fund raising event for Telethon here in Western Australia. My Mum is a very "one" eyed supporter of the West Coast Eagles (who mainy used to play for) so when they announced the game Mum wanted us all to go as a family. We had such a great time and the kids had a ball. My brother and his wife came with my neice, there was Colin & I with the kids and my Mum.
The Mascot race was very entertaining and very funny. Each company who wanted to enter a mascot had to pay a registration fee of $1000 for telethon. They had 46 mascots entered so that meant $46,000 dollars for Telethon. What an amazing effort Perth, you have done it again.
The race itself was, in a word, hilarious. But what a great idea.
I think Bendigo Bank won but not sure as we were laughing so much. Anyway we had a great time out as a family and can't wait to do it again next year.
I think so far Telethon this year has raised over 6.5million dollars. Wahooooooo, way to go WA.
Have a great week and please be careful on the roads as the kids start back again this week.
When we go away its my chance to relax and get away from my everyday life, scrapbooking and cardmaking included. Don't get me wrong I love them and love doing them but sometimes its nice to try something different. I decided to take some sewing away (I am not a sewer) so for me this was something different. I taught myself how to make very cute flowers and stitched some words. What will I do with them, not sure but it was fun and thats the main thing.
maybe something for christmas?
As I have been getting into a lot of new stuff lately I thought I should just keep going as its been so much fun. So this weekend I am starting my vegie patch (yes very different for me), last week I started a 13 week course with Ali Edwards (my all time scrappy hero) and signed up to do a class with Elizabeth Kartchner (my other all time favourite) and next Thursday I start another new challenge, the Coach of my Sons T-Ball team.
Phewww! busy time ahead and although I am not sure how I am going to fit it all in I am still excited. Well they say a change is as good as a holiday!!!!
Have a great weekend, enjoy what is left of the school hols. Keep safe and well.
Just wanted to show some more pictures of the lovely little christmas shop that we found in Karridale, south of Perth. It was very quaint and oh so cute. Couldn't help myself, had to buy some Santa's. Oh and definately needed to buy christmas tissues. Well you just never know when you need to blow your nose LOL.
The decorations and ornaments were beautiful and very different.
This little stapler wasn't for sale, it belonged to the owner of the shop. She said a friend gave it to her for a present. Cute don't you think.
Anyway only a few more days left of the holidays so enjoy. I just wanted to say a big thankyou to Susan and her lovely children for having us over today. The kids and I had a wonderful time so thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so sorry Riley I forgot to ask how your trip went, hopefully next time you can tell me all about it.
Yes we are back from our week away in Busselton. Although the weather wasn't that kind we still had a wonderful time. For me it was getting away from the usual routine, relaxing and spending time with friends and family. Here is just a quick glance at our week away.
The Cruiser got its first war wound. Yep straight into a tree. Sorry, but I laughed, colin on the other hand didn't.
Helped our friends celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary and Watershed winery. Mmmmmm, yum!
got there in time to set up and watch the AFL Grand Final. I was cheering for St Kilda, maybe next year.
Spent way too much time at the Chocolate Factory...
found another Christmas Shop...
did some great 4WD trips, got to watch the rain coming in, it was spectacular.
did some fishing... well we tried but I think the fish went on a holiday as well...
